This kit was an impulse buy at Whole Foods a few weeks back. I went in to get a hot tea steamer for Jason and left with this, a fair trade sheep Christmas ornament, and some fancy hot cocoa mix. (I can't be trusted in Whole Foods alone). Anyway, the shoots took off within two days and at this point I've got three blooming stalks that are so tall they are falling over. The photos above were taken before Christmas. I will take some of the plant in its current form to post soon. Have you ever tried growing indoor bulbs? They really do liven up the inside of your house in the dead of winter. Next year I'd like to try some red amaryllis!
Paperwhites! I just started some myself that Taylor gave me. They are just so beautiful and you are right — they completely liven up a house in the middle of winter.
